Hawaiian Chic

7 Aug

Hey party people, Brittany here on the blog today! One of the perks of having a July birthday is being able to throw a fun summer bash. Although I’m getting to an age where most stop celebrating birthdays, celebrating is what we do, so not taking advantage of a reason to party is just unacceptable! You may recall my Pea-cocktail Party last year, this time around we put a spin on an oldie but a goodie. The always popular Luau, with added animal print and glitter for dramatic effect. Above is the invitation, designed for a small group of friends, complete with handmade glitter envelope liners!

The venue: Our Backyard! Our almost finished pool yard created by my Stepfather was the perfect oasis for a Hawaiian celebration!

Mama Mia is too good to her birthday girl, look at these fabulous centerpieces she created! We handmade the glitter chargers and vases, but the great thing about the Luau theme is that there is an endless amount of tropical accessories available. During the summer months, practically any party outlet is overflowing with leis and palm tree paraphernalia.

Tiger Lillies + Peonies + Raffia = FABULOUS!

We had a blast, with a DIY backyard “photo booth”, SAY CHEESE!

We used store bought photo cut-outs and jazzed them up a bit, to make them more user friendly! Check out these party-go’ers in action. :)

Mufasa was not happy being stuck inside!

A signature cocktail is a party must have – I suggest you give this yummy recipe a try before the summer ends. But be careful, it may go down a little too easy!

I’m a truly spoiled girl to have such good friends in the business of sweets. Double Dips outdid themselves with these Piña Colada creations,
tasted just like the real thing!

Coconut, Pineapple and Passionfruit mini cupcakes from Coccadotts Cake Shop, these were definitely as delicious as they appear!

I truly appreciate those who take a theme party as seriously as I do! Zinc and all, these tourists were ready to party!

Speaking of oldies (but goodies!) a great shot of my best friends and I,
always ready to party!

Thanks for tuning in as I hi-jack the blog today, thought it was a party worth sharing. Every once in a while its fun to try out some ideas we’ve got cookin’ for our own personal use! Hopefully we’ve inspired you ;)
